THE SIGNAL is the independent student newspaper of Georgia State University. I worked as Photo Editor for the publication building a portfolio including editorial and press work.
As Photo Editor of THE SIGNAL, I worked as press for various concerts and events in the Atlanta area for our online and print publications.
I was selected to exhibit my CANDYLAND editorial series in 2015 at a RAW Artists Atlanta showcase that spotlights independent artists in visual art, film, fashion, etc. The collection was featured internationally through the organization.

Discover Science Center is an informal science education enrichment center whose purpose is to supplement the STEAM curriculum taught in K-12 schools and homeschool programs. My time here as Homeschool Coordinator has allowed me to wear many hats. Not only did I manage curriculum development, but was able to create a virtual/online presence for our company for schools, Girl Scouts, training, and more. This helped our company transition online during the initial COVID-19 lockdowns.
design
My positions at THE SIGNAL, Discover Science Center, and other ventures have given me opportunities to utilize design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Canva, Procreate, and Storyline 360 to create content for editorial shoots, branding, teaching, training, events, social media, digital/web presence, promotional videos, and more.
collabs
I've had the pleasure of collaborating with amazing companies and organizations outside of work to mentor professionals and to give students access to one-of-a-kind learning experiences.
Activity Hero
After creating the virtual and on-demand content for DSC, I lead an instructional workshop in 2021 for business owners looking to enhance their web presence with video-based learning content.
Universal Studios
As Homeschool Coordinator at DSC, I piloted our first educational travel program at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure in Oct 2022 for their Universal Studies Program. Here, we studied and modeled physics and engineering programs with a focus on roller coasters.
Hembree Springs Elementary School
Through DSC, I partnered with Hembree Springs Elementary School to develop their monthly STEM workshops and facilitate their Star Nights for their 2021-2022 school year. These events provided students and their families opportunities to utilize the school's telescopes and observatory.

When I think about my career path, I think to my time in college. I often had to conduct research at observatories, alone, in a tower, until three in the morning which was not so glamorous when you're fighting off the cold weather and sleep.
Those experiences led me to getting more involved in campus outreach. When I realized how much more fulfilling it was to share my knowledge and collaborate with others – that’s when it clicked for me.
When I'm not teaching, my hobby is trying new hobbies – I love learning new and random skills. In the past year I’ve picked up kayaking, solving the Rubik’s cube, and learning Japanese. I would love to learn how to play drums next.
